Microsoft announced today that it has started rolling out task assignments in its cross-platform To-Do app. Tasks assignments are only available in Shared Lists, allowing family members, friends, or coworkers to assign tasks to any member of a shared list.

Once some tasks have been assigned to someone, they will visible in the “Assign to me” list on the left panel of the app. Users also have the option to hide this smart list in settings, or auto-hide it when it’s empty. It’s worth noting that the Assigned to Me list can also display tasks assigned in Planner, Microsoft’s Trello alternative for Office 365 subscribers.
Microsoft To-Do is currently available on the web, Windows 10, iOS, Android, and it recently launched on the Mac App Store. The app is free to use and supports both personal Microsoft accounts as well as Office 365 accounts, and it integrates with several Microsoft services such as Cortana and Outlook Tasks.
