Take a quick tour of cordova tools for visual studio, helps you build apps on andriod and ios

For those that did not know, Apache Cordova tools in Visual Studio lets web developers build cross-platform mobile app targeting Android, iOS, Windows, and Windows Phone using use their existing skills in HTML and JavaScript. All you need is Visual Studio 2013, along with Update 2, which hit RTM not too long ago.

App developers who utilize Visual Studio can now build Windows and Windows Phone apps, along with iOS and Android apps, thanks to the preview of Cordova tools. All you need to do to get started, is to download the multi-device hybrid apps package. Once you install this package, you will notice that you have a new “Multi-Device Hybrid App” template available when creating a new project.

When you create the project and hit run, you can run your new app in various iOS and Android emulators including Nexus 7, Nexus (Galaxy), and Nexus S – although they are reportedly slow. The cool thing is that Visual Studio simply goes into the Android tools, builds your .apk, and loads it onto your Android device so you can run and debug it right from your Visual Studio setup on Windows!

If you are interested in seeing how this works, head over to the VIA link below. You can also take a look at a video (over one hour long), showcasing Cordova tools in action. A must-watch for app developers insterested in multi-device hybrid app development.
