T-Mobile Germany skipping Lumia Denim update for the Lumia 925 and 1020

T-Mobile Germany apparently skipping Lumia Denim update for the Lumia 925 and 1020Lumia Denim is already rolling out in several regions across the globe. The country variants in several markets are already running the latest Windows Phone 8.1 with Denim, with carriers slowly catching up. If you’re in possession of a Lumia 925, or the camera-centric Lumia 1020, tied to T-Mobile Germany, there’s a piece of bad news for you. It appears the carrier is apparently skipping the Lumia Denim update for both handsets without any possible explanation.

In a post inquiring about the Lumia Denim update for both devices, the carrier’s help team member “Justina S” confirmed there will no Denim update for the Lumia 925 and 1020. It does appear a little surprising as Microsoft is already rolling out the Lumia Denim update in parts of Europe for the duo, even carriers in several European countries have started seeding the update to its users. There’s no possible explanation at the moment, but other members of the help team did chime in with their responses, giving out the same answer — in short, “No”.

At the moment, only a few devices from the carrier are running the Lumia Denim update, some of them may have shipped with it, including the Lumia 620, 625, 830 and 930. There’s no word about the update schedule for the remaining Windows Phone handsets tied to the carrier.

On a side note, the update is yet to make an appearance on major US carriers as well, with a surprising exception of Verizon who became the first carrier to release the update for the neglected Lumia Icon, Lumia 928 and Lumia 822 in the US. Don’t be disappointed, at least AT&T have confirmed the update is “coming soon” to their Windows Phone devices, but we’re not sure how soon — could be a few more months judging by the speed of the roll-out by the carriers.

In case you’re wondering what it has to offer, my colleague Fahad Al-Riyami did an excellent review of what the new operating system has to offer, you can check it out here.
