Surface scores official tablet of the Grammys position

The awards season approaches, music, movies and TV shows are all looking to score that little trophy. These things always bring along “official” products, from lip balm to tablets. Tablets are obviously quite a bit newer than Suzy Chapstick, and Microsoft has had a some recent wins in that market, including having Surface become the official tablet of the NFL.

Now the little device has achieved the same fame in the Grammy world, being named the official tablet of the awards show. “We’re proud to announce that Surface is the Official Tablet Partner of the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards. In preparation for the upcoming awards next month, the Surface team went down to sunny California for the GRAMMY Nominations LIVE! show. Surface 2 was the official tablet that powered The Recording Academy’s social feeds and this was a unique opportunity for us to give you a behind-the-scenes all access pass on everything that was happening”, the Surface team announces today.

Microsoft wants you to know that Surface is a part of the music world, coming with Xbox Music and other apps to get you started. It will not, however, predict who will win. For that, you’ll need to watch the live broadcast and keep your fingers crossed for your favorites.

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards will take place January 26, 2014, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Who do you think is deserving this time around?
