Surface Pro 3 Now Available For Purchase In India, For Those Who Are Ready To Spend Some Extra Bucks – onmsft.com

Surface Pro 3 now available for purchase in India, if you are ready to spend some extra bucks

Microsoft launched the Lumia 730 and Lumia 830 in India earlier this month. This was pretty impressive considering the devices were globaly announced just last month. However, not all Microsoft products ship in India this quickly. Take Surface tablets for an example. The Redmond-based company hasn’t launched any of its Surface tablet in India yet. So it may come as a big surprise for you to hear that a few hours ago Surface Pro 3, the latest generation of Microsoft tablet became available for purchase on Snapdeal, country’s leading online shopping portal.

As a wiseman once said, “if it is too good to be true, it probably isn’t (or it probably comes with a catch)”. The Surface Pro 3’s Indian availability also has one caveat. The device is a lot costlier than its official price. The only variant that is available in India as of now is the Intel i5-powered with 128 gigs storage option and it costs $1600 (Rs 98,450). In the United States, the same model is selling at $999 (Rs 61,000). So it’s a tough call, but given that none of the Surface tablets has launched in India yet, and since listings on eBay India aren’t any cheaper (costing north of $1500, plus many of them are used products), this seems like a reasonable compromise.

The Surface Pro 3 sports a 12-inch  ClearType display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels. Inside the device sits a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 “Haswell” processor paired with 4GB of RAM, as well as 128 GB internal storage. Unlike most of the Android tablets, and all the iPads, the Surface Pro allows you to plug-in your external hard drive or flash drives via USB port, and there is a microSD card slot as well.

Thanks Saket and Khamosh for the tip!
