Surface Mini to be announced on May 20 at NYC event?

Interest in Microsoft’s Surface has steadily increased since the first generation was launched back at the end of 2012. With a massive interest in 7-8 inch tablet, and the popularity of the Apple iPad Mini, Surface fans have been waiting for news of a miniature version of the Surface for some time. An upcoming event could bring the news that people have been waiting for.

At this stage it is pure speculation, but rumors are already circulating that this could be the event at which we find out something about the Surface Mini which is believed to be on the horizon. After all, the tagline of this press event is “Join us for a small gathering.” Of course it is possible that we might learn something about the Surface 3, maybe both — we’ll know more in a couple of weeks, hopefully.

We reached out to Microsoft for a comment and the company confirmed an event is indeed taking place on May 20th. “Stay tuned: We’ll reveal what’s next for Surface at an invitation-only event in New York on May 20,” a Microsoft spokesperson told WinBeta.

What would you like to see from the event? Would you be more excited about the Surface 3 being announced, or the Surface Mini?
