Microsoft has released the latest firmware update for its dual-screened Android-powered Surface Duo. As has been the case for the past few months, the October 2021 update comes with the usual monthly Android security patch for the device.

This release weighs in at around 51 MB, and it’s smaller than the last month’s update for the Surface Duo. It’s rolling out to users in the US and Europe, but with different software versions (2021.913.25 (North America) and 2021.913.26 (Europe)) respectively. However, Surface Duo users that own the AT&T model of the dual-screened should also receive these updates.

As usual, the October 2021 updates are rolling out to all Surface Duo users staggered. You can grab the updates by heading to the Settings app >> System and choosing System Update.

Last month, Microsoft also announced the new Surface Duo 2 that comes with a triple-camera setup, an 8.3-inch display, 5G support, and more. The Surface Duo 2 is priced at $1499.99, and the company is now getting ready to start shipping the device to the first customers. We invite you to check out our separate post for more details.
