The Surface Book 3 recently received August’s 2022 firmware update, which features the usual stability improvements, and security fixes. The firmware update which was first released on August 3 also comes with improved reliability with Surface Pen 2.

The update should be rolling out to all devices running the Windows 10 May 2020 Update, Version 20H1, or greater. There are a couple of updates listed in the release that Microsoft says will enhance stability and reliability when using Surface Dock 2 and Surface Pen 2. Here’s the complete list as per the firmware update:

Windows Update Name Device Manager

Surface Firmware Update

Surface – System – 5.50.139.0
Surface System Aggregator – Firmware Surface – Extension – 1.69.137.0
Surface System Aggregator – Firmware

Surface – Firmware -10.409.139.0

This firmware update should be available to users via Windows Update, where you will be required to download it and then restart your device, though these updates are not necessarily available right away for all Surface users. In other related news, our very own Arif Bacchus spotted Microsoft’s Surface Chief, Panos Panay with a blurred PC. Could this be an indication that a new Surface device is well on its way?
