The Surface 2 kickstand transforms the device from a tablet into a laptop

In an official blog post today, Microsoft’s RalfGroene, the lead designer for the Surface device, goes over the new two-position kickstand that comes with the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2. Because of this enhanced kickstand, you can transform the Surface device from a tablet into a laptop with ease.

In the video, which we have embedded for your viewing pleasure below, you can see Groene showcase the new two-position kickstand. The new second position that was created for the new generation of Surface devices is intended to allow for a better position while on your lap.

The kickstand perfectly fits into the body of the device, thanks to Microsoft’s “high goal” when it came to the aesthetics of the device. The kickstand has also been designed in a manner that doesn’t make it flimsy when you open or close it. Take a look at the video below.
