Star Wars Battlefront II Video Game’s Huge The Rise Of Skywalker Update Drops Today – onmsft.com

The massive content update inspired by Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is set to rollout to all owners of the Star Wars Battlefront II video game on Microsoft’s Xbox One consoles in the next few hours.

This update, like all previous ones, is completely free for all owners of Battlefront II. It will add a new planet from The Rise of Skywalker, new skins for Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren, four new reinforcements, and will also bring the Sequel Trilogy maps to the Co-Op game mode.

While the planet will be added to the game with today’s update, it won’t be activated until December 20th, presumably to avoid spoiling aspects of the movie’s plot.

Of particular note is the four new reinforcements which will be split evenly between the First Order and Resistance factions. The Sith Trooper and Jet Trooper should be familiar to those who have seen trailers and teasers for The Rise of Skywalker but Ovissian Gunner and Caphex Spy are completely new reveals for Star Wars fans. Each is a new alien species which are set to debut in Episode IX.

An admittedly epic trailer was released to promote all of this new content and the plethora of existing content in Star Wars Battlefront II which can be watched below. Impressively, all of the footage in the trailer was created using the title’s game engine.

Content updates will continue for Star Wars Battlefront II into the New Year and throughout 2020 with new droid heroes and game mode updates set to come next month.

Which part of today’s update excites you the most? Let us know in the comments below and then follow us on Pinterest for more Xbox gaming content.
