For those who are hardcore technology gurus or new to computing, one thing is for sure. Spybot Search and Destroy is a must-have tool for your security needs. Spybot has recently taken their Search and Destroy 2.0.12 release out of Beta and made it available for download. Best of all, it works amazingly well on Windows 8.

Search and Destroy 2.0.12 comes with a newly designed Start Center, which features everything you need in a centralized location. β€œIn our discussions with our users we realized at an early stage that they wanted a more modern user interface. We believe we have managed to create a new front end in our Start Center that has a clean look while proving easy access to many additional new features and tools,” SpyBot stated on their official website. This security application comes with several cool features such as Secure Shredder, which lets you wipe data without leaving a trace, and Rootkit Scan, which is self explanatory. With Search and Destory 2.0.12, users can now create a Spybot 2 liveCD, which allows you to do a clean boot of a system and still have access to the registry. This application also has automatic updates, so you can stay up to date with security definitions. As for performance, this application runs fast on Windows 8. So if you are interested in real-time protection, as well as top-notch security features to keep your Windows 8 system safe and secure, this is your application. Of course, this will never replace an Antivirus application, but is a great extra layer of security to have. Take a look at the visual walkthough of the app below and hit the download link to grab this for Windows 8.
