A new version of the Spotify app is now available for Xbox Insiders testing any of the Xbox One Update Preview rings.
This new Spotify Xbox app boasts a new design aesthetic (see above image), improvements to music playback when played in the background, and support for Cortana voice activation.
Here’s the official feature list:
- New and improved look and feel!
- Enhanced background music—in conjunction with Guide changes, the Spotify app now advertises up to 20 additional playlists under the media controls on the in-game page. Users can select and start new playlists, or show details of tracks in a playlist.
- Cortana voice activation support.
This version of the Spotify app should roll out to the general public in the near future as soon as it’s finished being tested by Xbox Insiders.
