SongArc updated to version 2.0, gains search and higher resolution support

SongArc is a music-based game with a difference for Windows Phone. Taking cues from titles like Guitar Hero, this is a game that lets you play along to the music you love — it is essentially an exercise in rhythm-matching, but it is highly addictive and a real time-killer.

Just as in Guitar Hero, as music plays you are presented with a series of on-screen notes that you must tap at the right time. It’s one of those games that is very simple to play; easy to pick up but very difficult to master.

The game spent a little while in beta, but now this is over and new features and options are being added. While the game is free to play, you need to ‘purchase’ play sheets using in-game coins. It is possible to earn free coins by sharing the games on social networks, and by just launching the app, but you can also purchase extras with cash if you need more.

Version 2.0 has now hit the Windows Phone Store and it is already developing into a mature product that’s well worth a look.

Here’s the full changelog:

  • Search song titles and artists
  • Song position indicator
  • Redesigned Sheet Details Screen
  • Native Windows Phone 8 support, including an extremely crisp 720p and 768p design!
  • Free to play
  • Bug fixes, performance and usability improvements

Check it out and let us know what you think!
