A rather cool feature has just rolled out to Xbox 360 console owners in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, and the U.K. who are enrolled in the Xbox 360 Preview program; the ability to send account funds to other users via digital gift cards.
Xbox 360 Preview members can send a gift card from the Social twist or Xbox Guide by simply choosing another user’s profile and then selecting “Send Gift”. The amount of credit can then be chosen and once sent, the recipient just needs to click “Redeem Code” to get the credit deposited into their account.
The Xbox 360 Preview program is used to test new features with a select group of users before rolling them out to the general public. A similar program is also used for Microsoft’s Xbox One console as well as Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile devices. This particular feature is rather noteworthy as despite being a newer console, the ability to send digital gift cards directly from the system has not yet been trialled on the Xbox One.
