Skype for Windows 8 announced, available to you this Friday – onmsft.com

Skype have finally announced a release date for it’s new Skype app for Windows 8. The app will allow you to chat and video talk with friends, as well as the usual call functionality. The app will be available in the Windows Store starting this Friday.

Skype for Windows 8 has been designed to allow you see who has contacted you at any time, so the app in Windows 8 will always run in the background. “You’ll be able to receive voice and video calls and chats even if you’ve navigated away to another app or to the desktop, enabling you to stay more connected with your contacts whatever you’re doing.” Stated the blog.

Skype for Windows 8 leaked quite some time ago, while that was an early build that was incomplete, many features from that build are still present in todays version.
