Skype for Mac bumped to version 7.9, brings improved web links preview and bug fixes

Earlier today, Skype for Mac received an update, bumping it up to version 7.9. The latest update brings a number of bug fixes along with improved web link preview experience. Now, whenever you share web link with any of your contacts, it will display a rich visual preview of the web page, making it easier to find out what the link is all about if it’s an image or a video.

Here’s the list of bug fixes which are taken care of in the latest update:

  • Messaging: Fixed an issue which caused links to occasionally disappear in chat.
  • Messaging: Fixed an issue which prevented GIFs from loading properly.
  • Application: Fixed an issue which crashed the application on Macs with Force Touch trackpad.

There’s still a known issue which is not yet fixed where audio and/or video stops sending in Skype after the device wakes up from hibernation. However, the company is working hard to make sure it’s bug free and offers the best possible user experience. If you’re a Mac user and came across any bug, make sure to provide the company with your feedback to improve it even further.
