Skype

Recently, Skype for Mac picked up an update, bumping it to version 6.19, which focuses on several issues faced by users, helping to improve the overall app experience and stability.

The latest updated fixed a bug where the app crashed when a user tries to send or receive files from other users. That’s not the only bug which was squashed in this update, it also fixes an issue where Skype would simply crash when the system wakes up from sleep. In addition, the company also added Voice Over support to select recent searches from Add Contacts field for visually impaired users.

Here’s a complete change log provided by Skype:

Fixes:

  • Some users reported problems with crashes while sending and receiving files. We’ve fixed this issue.
  • We fixed an issue where the client would crash upon waking from sleep.
  • We fixed missing search results when searching for your messages on older Mac desktop machines.

Improvement:

  • Added Voice Over support to select recent searches from Add Contacts search field.  This improves our screen reader support for visually impaired users.

You can grab the updated Skype for Mac directly from company’s website, or check within the app for the update.
