Skype for Linux 4.3 hits the download servers with updated UI

Proving it’s very much a tool for cross-platform communication, Skype for Linux 4.3 has now been released, complete with an updated UI. The latest version also features support for the cloud-based Group Chat experience for an improved experience when using multiple devices.

File transfers have been made more reliable when using two or more devices simultaneously, and there’s support for PulseAudio 3.0 and 4.0. Microsoft advices that users install PulseAudio 4.0 or greater for the best calling experience.

Here’s the feature list in full:

  • An updated UI
  • Our new cloud-based Group Chat experience
  • More reliable file transfer support when using multiple devices at once
  • Greater accessibility by blind and visually impaired users
  • PulseAudio 3.0 and 4.0 support
  • Lot of bug fixes

Skype is available for various Linux distros, including Ubuntu, Fedora and Debian.
