Skype for iOS updated, the company seeking users for a pre-release program

Skype has released an update for its app for iPhone, bumping it to version 5.9. The latest update comes with a few notable improvements and features, making it easier to start conversations with your friends and family. Skype for iPhone v5.9 brings UI improvements to both the dial pad and new chat picker so you could quickly start the conversation.

Furthermore, the new improved dialer will start searching for the contacts as soon as you start typing the number of the recipient and display matching contacts, making it faster to make calls using the app.

It’s not just the new update, Skype has started a pre-release program for iPhone users where a selected few will be able to test the new version before it rolls out publicly and provide their feedback. This can be helpful to iron out bugs which may be present in the app. To apply in the program, there are some pre-requisites: you have to be over 18 years of age, have a Microsoft/Skype account and a valid email address.
