The Skype for Business team has announced today that the Skype for Business Mac client is now generally available for Office 365 commercial users. Several preview versions have been released earlier this year, but the Skype team explained in the blog post that the final version will provide “a great first class experience for Mac users” with edge-to-edge video support and more. The Skype Operations Framework (SOF) has also been updated to help IT administrators set up the new Mac client and you can learn more about what’s new in the dedicated blog post.
Additionally, the team also announced the following new features for its Skype for Business apps on iOS and Android:
- Integration with cloud storage services including OneDrive, iCloud drive and Dropbox.
- Ability to present PowerPoint files in a meeting and to share presentations in the meeting’s content bin for others to download.
- Video-based Screen sharing (VbSS) is now available on the iOS client and coming soon for Android users
