Skype and Translator apps for Windows Phone 8 receive new updates

Microsoft has rolled out two app updates in the Windows Phone Store – one for Skype and the other for Translator. Don’t get your hopes up, as both app updates are minor.

“Bing Translator is your companion when you need to overcome the language barrier. Use your camera, voice or keyboard to enter text you want to translate. Use Bing Translator on-the-go, even when you don’t have an Internet connection,” the app description reads. Now known as simply “Translator,” the app was bumped to version 2.9.1.0 and features automatic language detection in keyboard mode and offline translation for Arabic and Persian.

“Make free Skype to Skype video and voice calls as well as send instant messages to friends and family around the world,” the app description reads. The Skype app was updated to version 2.16.0.274 and features general bug fixes and improvements.
