Skype 5.1 for iPhone released along-with new features and improvements

Skype has rolled out an updated app for the iPhone, bringing in new features and improvements, including a new press and hold action that gives users the ability to remove conversations from recent chats. You can also edit a message in chat. The new features include:

  • You can now delete a conversation from the recent list with a long press on recents. You can also edit messages you’ve recently sent with a long press on the message. (Just as you can long press on an individual message to delete it.)
  • Tap the “add favorites” link to easily fill your favorites screen with the people you contact the most.
  • The People list now matches the desktop better: we have added the “Skype” filter; the “online” filter now includes users set to online, away and do not disturb; and best of all your filter settings are saved.

The company is working on introducing more features to the app and will release them as they are ready. Skype is listening to user feedback in the Skype Community to improve and customize the app to their needs.

You can download Skype for iPhone from the App Store for free.
