Microsoft has made available two updates for two of its popular apps on Windows Phone. Skype 1.0 and SkyDrive 2.0 for Windows Phone is now available in the Windows Phone Marketplace and these apps are packed with new and exciting features.

The Skype 1.0 app for Windows Phone features the ability to search and add new contacts, call landlines, and features several new enhancements to the app. The only negative thing about this app is that you cannot receive calls via Skype when the app isn’t running. Skype 1.0 is available now in the Marketplace but some users outside the US are reporting that it is not available. This should be fixed soon, so keep checking. The SkyDrive 2.0 app brings several new features of the service to your Windows Phone. For example, SkyDrive now supports the Open Document Format as well as 300MB uploads from the browser to SkyDrive. This new update also brings short urls to the service.
