SkyDrive panorama

The guys over at Liveside have discovered that SkyDrive’s new panorama viewer compliments the Camera app in Windows 8.1 when taking panoramic pictures. This feature is live now on SkyDrive.com, so simply upload a panoramic picture created via Windows 8.1’s Camera app and upload it to SkyDrive to see it!

\

Here’s how this works. Launch the Camera app in Windows 8.1 Preview. Select the Panorama Mode icon to begin capturing a panoramic image via your PC camera. Once you are done capturing the image, simply select Done and the .pano image will be saved to your Camera Roll folder. If you have Windows 8.1 already set up to auto-upload to SkyDrive, just check your SkyDrive Camera Roll folder on SkyDrive. Or just manually upload the .pano file to SkyDrive.

\

Head over to your SkyDrive Camera Roll folder on SkyDrive.com and select the panorama you created and you will see the panorama via the new SkyDrive panorama viewer. Users will be presented with a four-way navigation icon on the center of the image along with the option to make it a full screen immersive panorama viewer.

\

So there you have it. Give it a try if you have Windows 8.1, a PC Camera, and a SkyDrive account.
