Today marks the first anniversary of Sea of Thieves, Rare’s pirate game released on Xbox One and Windows 10 last year. The “Anniversary update” that Rare announced a couple of weeks ago will actually ship a little later than expected, but there’s still a new content update today that brings Xbox mouse and keyboard support, as well Xbox Chatpad support.
Microsoft’s Xbox One console gained support for mouse on keyboard input back in November, but it’s still up to game developers to enable it in their games. It’s great that Sea of Thieves is now joining the pool of games supporting mouse and keyboard and Xbox One, and with Xbox Chatpad support players on both console and PC can now quickly engage in text chat by just pressing ’T’ on the keyboard.
Today’s update also introduces new Mercenary voyages, Year one Celebration cosmetics and Pirate Legends rewards, as well as a new Skeleton Fort to assault. You can get more details about this update on the official Sea of Thieves website, and don’t forget that you can still join the Sea of Thieves Insider program to get early access to new updates.
