Samsung Ativ Q

Samsung has unveiled its new Ativ Q hybrid laptop/tablet device and it not only runs Windows 8, but also the latest iteration of Google’s Android operating system. Talk about having two different operating systems powering one unique device!

“Switching between the two operating systems is a simple task of hitting a tile on the Windows 8 desktop. The switch takes a couple of seconds at most and thankfully doesn’t require a restart,” CNET stated.

The Ativ Q can easily switch between Android and Windows 8, depending on what the consumer feels like using. Folders are also shared, so if you save a picture in an Android gallery, you can see it in your pictures folder on Windows 8!

The Ativ Q features a 13.3-inch display with 3200 x 1800 resolution (275ppi), full QWERTY keyboard, and offers a tablet, laptop, stand, and floating device mode. The device weighs 2.84 pounds and features an Intel Core i5 processor with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. As for graphics, the device runs on an Intel HD Graphics 4400 chip. There is also a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, HDMI port, and microSD slot.

Pricing and a release date have yet to be announced. You can take a look at the embedded video below from CNET which takes a visual look at the new Android/Windows 8 device.
