Apparently, Samsung is telling its customers not to upgrade to Windows 10. Samsung states the reason for this is that many of its PC drivers will not work with Windows 10. Samsung customers are experiencing widespread failures when trying to upgrade their devices to Windows 10, and that’s if Windows 10 will install at all.
With the Windows 10 Anniversary Update just a month away, this is certainly bad news for Microsoft. In an email from Samsung support, a customer is told to avoid Windows 10 entirely as his Samsung NP-R590 laptop is not equipped for Windows 10.
“Honestly speaking, we don’t suggest installation of Windows 10 to any Samsung laptop or PC and we are still coordinating with Microsoft regarding to this matter. The Drivers that we have on our website are not yet compatible to the latest version of Windows. What we usually recommend is to keep the current Windows version and we’ll update you once the Windows 10 have no more issues on any Samsung laptops and computers or even monitors.”
There has yet to be any official statement from Samsung regarding when they will update their drivers to be compatible with Windows 10. According to the Register, a Microsoft spokesperson released a statement:
“Microsoft and Samsung are committed to Windows 10, and are working closely together to provide the best possible Windows 10 upgrade experience.”
No word yet on when Samsung devices will get updated drivers for Windows 10, but this will cause Windows 10 to hit a considerable snag in its mission to be on 1 billion devices.
