Rumor: Samsung SM-750V is a Windows Phone handset headed for Verizon

The Windows Phone arena is pretty much dominated by Nokia and its Lumia range of handsets that caters to almost every price point. It has been some time since any other big player launched a Windows Phone handset, but it seems things might change in the near future. According to the well-connected @evleaks, Samsung is working on a Windows Phone handset with a model number SM-750V that is destined for Verizon.

Before we move on with the details of this alleged handset, let me remind you that it’s not the first time SM-750V has appeared in leaks. In case you can’t recall, the handset also made an unexpected appearance at the Bluetooth SIG, where it received certification. While previous leaks suggested it will come with a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution, the recent AdDuplex report paints a different picture.

According to their report, the handset will come with a 4.3-inch display boasting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and is heading to the Big Red. In fact, this brand new handset is expected to see the light of the day in the coming months.

To put some more weight to this rumor, @evleaks also tweeted out that it’s a Windows Phone handset that will hit Verizon, codenamed Huron, and will look quite similar to the late Samsung Galaxy S. “Samsung SM-W750V will be a Windows Phone on Verizon. Codenamed Huron, it looks very similar to a late model Galaxy S,” @evleaks tweeted.

There’s no official word from Samsung about the existence of any such handset, but if it’s true, we’ll definitely hear more about it in the coming weeks.
