Windows Phone 8.1

While everyone is eagerly awaiting the next update to Windows Phone 8, called GDR3, new rumors have surfaced about the subsequent update. This update, effectively known as Windows Phone 8.1, is rumored to bring multi-tile selection, along with a highly anticipated Notification Center.

As you can see from the leaked image above, there is the ability to select more than one tile on the Start screen. This is a great feature for those who wish to re-organize more than one tile at the same time. The rumor suggests that we may see a “folders” option, but it appears that this may just be similar to Windows 8.1, in that you can select more than one tile to move around.

In the image, you can also see a Notification Center. This feature has been widely sought after and it appears that we may be seeing this when Windows Phone 8.1 rolls out. No one knows just yet how Microsoft intends to make this Notification Center work, or how it will look, but its coming!

Rumors are suggesting that we will see Windows Phone 8.1 during the first quarter of 2014. Again, take these details with a grain of salt. Do you find the multi-tile select feature useful? How about the Notification Center.. are you looking forward to this feature?
