Looks like we might be getting a glimpse of Apple’s next mobile operating system iOS 5 very soon. According to a German site (unverified source), iOS 5 will be introduced to the world at an event in early April.

As MacRumors reports, A German site, Macerkopf.de, is claiming to have knowledge of the event. The event is supposed to be taking place on Apple’s campus in Cupertino, California, around the 14th or 15th week of this year.

How reliable is this rumor? Well, Apple announced iOS 4 on April 8 of last year. As far as Apple’s development schedule is concerned, it remains pretty stable. There might be truth to this rumor after all.

Of course, only time will tell as more details emerge about iOS 5. With the recent announcement of the iPad 2, and the upcoming iPhone 5, it would be interesting to see how iOS 5 will impact these devices.
