Recent No Man’s Sky boost likely thanks to Starfield

Though many could have predicted this, No Man’s Sky is having its biggest month in years. And the most likely reason is Starfield.

Hello Games founder Sean Murray posted on Twitter to acknowledge the space survival game’s recent surge in popularity. While he didn’t specifically attribute it to the release of Starfield, Murray did mention that No Man’s Sky is available across many platforms including PC, Xbox, PlayStation, VR, Switch and even Mac. Starfield, on the other hand, is an Xbox console exclusive. Both games are available on Game Pass.

7 years in and No Man's Sky is having its biggest month in the last few years! 💪

Across all platforms – PC, XBox, Gamepass, Switch, PlayStation, Mac and VR 🙏

No Man’s Sky also received the huge Echoes update just before the Starfield launch, which no doubt also played a part in the recent uptick in popularity.

Created by an independent studio, No Man’s Sky suffered from a disastrous launch back in 2016. Over the years however the spacefaring survival adventure has undergone an impressive redemption through a steady stream of updates. No Man’s Sky is now considered among the finest games of its kind.
