The purported Nokia Lumia 730 spotted running upcoming “Debian Red” software update

Windows Phone

Microsoft is rumored to be working on several mid-range handsets, due to launch in the coming months. One of them is codenamed Tesla, which is said to be the Lumia 830 and has popped up on a number of occasions, while the second one is a selfie phone codenamed Superman.

Recently, WindowsPhoneCentral managed to get their hands on some leaked images of the successor of the mid-range Lumia 720. The leaked image shows the alleged Nokia Superman in green color, a similar shade introduced with the Nokia Lumia 630/930/1520 recently. This isn’t the most interesting part, as the alleged handset is running the “Lumia Debian Red” firmware update, possibly alongside GDR2 which is expected to launch in November.

Lumia Superman

The details are scarce about the Lumia Superman handset, but it’s said to come with a 4.7-inch display with a 5MP front-facing camera for selfie fans. Other details like its RAM, chipset, etc. are not known at the moment.

It’s the same story for the Debian Red software, but if you consider the traditional naming pattern, it makes sense — it’s following an alphabetical order, A for Amber, B for Bittersweet Shimmer, C for Cherry blossom pink or Cyan, and now D for Debian Red.

There are no launch details available at the moment, but it shouldn’t take too much time for the rumor mill to spill out more information. We’ll also keep a close eye, and update you if anything comes by.
