PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (PUBG) is getting crossplay support between Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in October. The news was announced today during Microsoft’s special Inside Xbox episode, and it should be an exciting update for fans of the popular battle royale game.
“This has been, hands down, the most requested feature since we launched on consoles and we’re so happy to finally provide this for our console community on Xbox One and PlayStation 4,” wrote Cecilia Lee, Community Manager, PUBG Corporation. Crossplay will go live first in late September on the PUBG Public Test Server, and it will be generally available in early October.

The PUBG team also announced plans to ship new content updates on consoles faster than before, and the goal will be to ship new updates within two weeks of their PC release. “Starting Aug. 27, PUBG Season 4 will release on console and all-in game content will be aligned across all platforms. All subsequent console updates will then land two weeks after its release on PC,” Lee said today.
If you haven’t tried PUBG yet, the battle royale game available for free with Xbox Game Pass. For a limited time, you can get two months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (which includes Xbox Game Pass for Console, Xbox Game Pass for PC, and Xbox Live Gold) for just $2.
