Microsoft has detailed the second wave of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in August, and there are no less than five titles joining the service on day one before the end of the month. The first one is the historical strategy game Humankind, which is available on Xbox Game Pass for PC starting today. The Xbox Game Pass Cloud Gaming catalog is also welcoming three new EA Play games today with Need for Speed Heat, Star Wars Battlefront II, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Three more Xbox Game Pass games will become available on all platforms on Thursday, August 19: The Metroidvania-inspired Recompile and the interactive Thriller 12 Minutes will launch on Game Pass on day one, and they will be joined on the same day by the train simulation game Train Sim World 2.

Next week, two additional games will launch day one on Xbox Game Pass with Psychonauts 2 on August 25 and Myst on August 26. The former is being published by Xbox Game Studios and is a sequel to the cult-classic Psychonauts game from Double Fine Productions, which was recently acquired by Microsoft.

Microsoft also announced today that 10 cloud-enabled games now support touch controls on Windows, iOS, and Android devices. The list of games includes Hades, Bloodroots, Farming Simulator 19, Going Under, Need for Speed Heat, Peggle 2, Psychonauts, Wasteland 2, Wasteland 3, and Wasteland Remastered.

Last but not least, the Xbox team also announced that Blair Witch, Double Kick Heroes, NBA 2K21, and Stranger Things 3: The Game will leave the Xbox Game Pass catalog on August 31. That’s it for this month’s Game Pass news, though Microsoft may well keep a few surprise announcements for its gamescom 2021 stream on August 24.
