PS5 Controller Firmware Now Can Be Updated on Windows

PlayStation 5 owners just got a bit of relief when it comes to updating the firmware of their controllers. Announced on Twitter, Sony has just made it possible for gamers to update their DualSense wireless controller with the latest firmware from Windows 11 and select Windows 10 devices, without connecting to a PS5.

To do this, you’ll have to download the Firmware updater for the DualSense Wireless Controller program and save it to your PC. From there, install it, and then download any additional software requested. You can then connect the controller to your Windows PC and follow the on-screen instructions.

This system works a lot like how you can update and manage Xbox controllers on Windows 10 and Windows 11 with the Xbox Accessories app. That app can be downloaded via the Microsoft Store.
