Modding in a gaming title can add incredible amounts of value, enabling players to create and share their own gaming visions that, sometimes within limitations, extend a game’s playability indefinitely. Fallout 4 is no exception, and as we reported a few days ago, the title’s developer, Bethesda, has been planning to release modding to Fallout 4 on the Xbox One today, May 31, 2016.

True to their word, modding has indeed been delivered. Bethesda let everyone know in a post on the game’s site:

Starting today, we are excited to deliver on something we’ve wanted to do for a very long time – bring Mods to a console audience. With the latest title update for Fallout 4, Xbox One gamers are now able to browse Mods on Bethesda.net and, more importantly, can directly download and play Mods within the game’s main menu.

Playing Fallout 4 on PlayStation 4? Your wait is almost over, too. We anticipate Mods arriving on the PS4 next month.

Probably the easiest way to get a handle on what’s possible with Fallout 4 modding on the Xbox One is to watch the video overview hosted by none other than Xbox Live’s Major Nelson (a.k.a., Larry Hryb):

If you’re a Fallout 4 fan itching to get your modding on, then now’s your chance. Go check things out, then let us know in the comments what you think.
