Prestigio launches Windows Phone 8.1-powered Multiphone 8500 for $210

\

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced new hardware partners for its mobile operating system, Windows Phone. Several of those companies have showcased and launched their Windows Phone handsets since. One such company is Prestigio, which showcased two of such devices at Computex event last month. The Cyprus tech giant has now made available one of those Windows Phone handsets for sale.

\

The company showcased Multiphone 8400 DUO and Multiphone 8500 DUO — its first Windows Phone handsets last month. Both the devices are dual-SIM capable and support 3G connectivity. Prestigio has launched the higher spec of the two — Multiphone 8500 DUO, and says the other one — Multiphone 8400 DUO — will become available on August 20th.

\

Both the devices are powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, and sport an 8MP camera at the rear. Multiphone 8500 DUO sports a 5-inch display and comes with a gig of RAM and 8GB internal storage. The pricing seems decent too, at $210, the phone does seem to pack decent specs.

\

Prestigio has already left its footprints throughout Europe, the Middle East as well as several regions of Asia and Africa. The dual-SIM capability is a selling factor that could give its smartphones an advantage.
