Last week, Microsoft released PowerToys 0.68.0 which featured two nifty features, the Mouse Jump and Paste as Plain Text utilities. The update also featured the usual fixes and improvements.

However, Microsoft has released another version bumping Powertoys to version 0.68.1. The release is fairly minor because it doesn’t feature any new utilities. The update is a patch release and mainly focuses on fixing bugs discovered.

Here’s the full changelog:

  • #24446 – Support Ctrl+V as activation shortcut for Paste As Plain Text, as requested by some users. Warning: Overriding a default system shortcut might have unintended consequences.
  • #24437 – Paste As Plain Text – Support pasting multiple times as Ctrl+V does (on pressing activation key while holding modification keys)
  • #24491 – Set Paste As Plain Text default shortcut to Ctrl+Win+Alt+V to avoid conflicting with new Windows volume mixer shortcut.
  • #24600 – Add PowerToys Run setting to disable thumbnails generation for files in order to narrow down the root cause of the crash.

If you already have PowerToys running on your device, it should automatically notify you of this update. Alternatively, you can get this update today by launching your app, then clicking on General followed by the Check for Updates, and then the Install Now button.

This version of the app is also available on GitHub as well as the Microsoft Store if you do not have it already.
