Latest Microsoft PowerToys update ships with self-contained .NET 7

Microsoft has just released the latest update for PowerToys bumping it to v0.66.0. When compared to the previous update, this is quite a significant update as it features a self-contained .NET 7 thus making it easier to keep it updated. It also saves on storage space. What’s more, users now get to pick which language the Text Extractor uses from the installed OCR languages.

On top of these, the update also unpacks a ton of bug fixes and stability improvements, not to mention the new setting that lets users sort the order of the accented characters by usage frequency in Quick Accent and fix for the reduced resource consumption bug that was caused by logging. If you already have PowerToys running on your device, it should automatically notify you of this update. Alternatively, you can get this update manually today by launching your app, then clicking on General followed by the Check for Updates, and then the Install Now button.
