The Power BI Windows 10 has been updated this week with a new home page design that’s currently in beta. During the preview period, the new design can be turned on and off by clicking on the “New look” toggle at the top right corner of the app.

According to the team, the new home page serves as a centralized hub for all Power BI content, with frequently accessed items sitting at the top of the home page. By clicking on the ellipsis menu available on every item in the Frequent strip, users can access quick actions such as open, pin, or favorite.

A Quick access table is also available at the bottom of the home page, giving users access to recent, favorite, shared, and other items. A shortcut to this new homepage has also been added to the left navigation pane, making it easy for users to access it from anywhere within the app.

This new update should also bring some performance improvements to the Power BI app for Windows 10. “As part of building the new look we also built some of the app’s infrastructure for caching, background processing and more,” the team explained.
