In the run up to the launch of Windows 10, news regarding Windows Phone has died down somewhat. Yet, despite this, there have been a few small rays of sunlight piercing the relentless grey, and now another has appeared courtesy of Ndemic Creations.

Plague Inc, the highly popular mobile game developed by the firm, is now available on Windows Phone following a lengthy beta. Costing a mere $0.99, the game is a small 29MB download.

Plague Inc tasks players with creating the perfect illness, assembled from a collection of genes, starting small before eventually wiping out the world’s population. On the way, a number of obstacles present themselves, from environmental factors to medical researchers, the world is assembled against you. Using a highly accurate predictive model, Plague Inc is both an eye-opening experience as well as a highly-addictive game.
