Place your bid and get your hands on a super rare white Xbox One

Place your bid and get your hands on a super rare white Xbox One

Ten days to go until the launch of the Xbox One! There will be hundreds of thousands of gamers eagerly waiting in line on the day, or impatiently awaiting the arrival of the delivery man, but everyone will end up with the same thing. Looks certainly aren’t everything, but if you fancy standing out from the crowd with an Xbox One with a difference, head on over to eBay where you can place a bid on an ultra-rare white version of the console.

The words emblazoned on the front of the console (I MADE THIS. LAUNCH TEAM 2013) give away the fact that this was destined for a member of Microsoft staff. On launch day, employees working in Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business will receive a limited edition white Xbox One. The one being auctioned is the only one that will be made available to the public, but you’ll need to have deep pockets if you want to make it yours.

The idea behind the auction is to raise money for the Wounded Warrier Project, so it should come as little surprise that the price is rocketing. At time of writing, bidding stands at $11,3000 and there are still more than six days left on the auction.

If you are the lucky bidder, your money gets you more than just a one of a kind console — also included is one year of Xbox Live, and a copy of each of Microsoft’s launch titles including Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, Project Spark and Crimson Dragon.

Oh one other thing to note — the auction is only open to US residents, so if you live elsewhere you’ll either have to give it a miss or get a friend in the States to bid on your behalf and ship it out to you.
