According to a report by Bloomberg, citing inside sources, Microsoft has sold over a million Surface RT devices and 400,000 Surface Pro devices since launch.

“Microsoft has sold little more than a million of the Surface RT version and about 400,000 Surface Pros since their debuts, according to three people, who asked not to be named because sales haven’t yet been made public. The company had ordered about 3 million Surface RTs, they said,” Bloomberg states. While these numbers are not straight from the horses mouth (so to speak), the numbers do provide an insight as to how well the Surface devices have performed in sales since their debut.

The Surface RT launched back in October 26 of 2012, while the Surface Pro launched in February 9th of this year. In total, Microsoft has sold just over 1.5 million Surface devices. Microsoft had apparently ordered 3 million Surface RT devices and was expecting to sell over 2 million Surface RTs in the last quarter but that seems to have fallen short of expectations. Lets give the Surface Pro some more time and see how well it does in a few more months.
