Just yesterday, Microsoft announced on stage at Ignite that Open Live Writer would be coming to the Windows Store. While it was not officially available at the time, now a day later, the app is now finally obtainable for download, free of cost from the Windows Store.

As seen above, Martin Woodward, Executive Director at the .NET Foundation, was first to let us know that the app is now available for download. The app, nonetheless, is a powerful, lightweight blog editor that allows you to create blog posts, add photos and videos then publish to your website. Please have a look at the full description below:
Open Live Writer is like Word for your blog. Open Live Writer is a powerful, lightweight blog editor that allows you to create blog posts, add photos and videos then publish to your website. You can also compose blogs posts offline and then publish on your return. Open Live Writer works with many popular blog service providers such as WordPress, Blogger, TypePad, Moveable Type, DasBlog and many more.
The app is based on a fork of the non-actively developed Windows Live Writer code, and is provided under an MIT license. If you’re interested in downloading the app, it is accessible via the link below. Once you’ve checked it out, be sure to drop us a comment below!
