Microsoft is working on improving the sharing experience in OneDrive for Business. Later this month, the cloud storage service for enterprise customers will get a new Dialog box that will let users change link permissions before and after creating a link for sharing a document.
As of today, OneDrive for Business doesn’t allow users to change permissions once a link is created. As a result, users are forced to create a new sharing link if they decide at some point to share a document with a different group people. However, the new Link Created dialog box will finally change that.
“Users who interact with the OneDrive/SharePoint share control will easily be able to change their link permissions before creating a link and pasting it into the app of their choice. They will also be able to change the link settings post-creation directly inside the confirmation box,” the company explained in a message on the Microsoft 365 admin center.
The new link sharing experience will begin rolling out to business customers in late November 2021 and it is expect to hit general availability in December. In case you missed it, OneDrive for Business has recently introduced new photo editing features on both Android and the web, and you can find more details in our separate post.
