The 1% that are Windows Phone users could soon have one less app to play with, as Marriott Hotels has started rolling out announcements about the retirement of their app for Windows Phones and PCs. Though the app currently remains in the store, a message to Marriott app users alerts of the impending retirement (via Windows Central.)
The Marriott app for Windows will soon retire. Your Marriott Rewards account history and existing reservations will remain the same. Thank you for being a loyal member.
This latest news is quite odd since Marriott recently updated the app as a Universal Windows 10 app. While the app is obviously preferable, Windows Phone users, nonetheless, can still use the Microsoft Edge browser to book reservations and manage accounts after the app is retired. In the meantime, you can still find the app in the link below.
