A new report indicates that Microsoft is planning on releasing Office for iOS and Android in March of 2013. Speaking at a press event in the Czech Republic, Microsoft’s product manager Petr Bobek revealed that Microsoft will release Office for these two mobile platforms.

“The biggest news today is the official announcement preparing Office 2013 for Android and iOS in the form of native applications. This information at a press conference published by Petr Bobek, product manager of Microsoft Office. Office 2013 will be launched in the first quarter of 2013, Microsoft will then gradually publish versions for other platforms,” the Czech report states. Microsoft also confirmed that Office 2013 would be available for businesses in December with a retail launch at the end of February of 2013. We will then see Office for iOS and Android, as well as Symbian, around March of 2013. More on this as it develops.

UPDATE (10/10/12 at 3:39PM): Microsoft’s Frank Shaw responded to these claims and had this to say: “The information shared by our Czech Republic subsidiary is not accurate. We have nothing further to share.”
