NVIDIA has started rolling out DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation along with a new 6X Multi Frame Generation mode through its opt-in NVIDIA app beta, and the update focuses entirely on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs with support requiring Game Ready Driver 595.97 WHQL or newer, which means RTX 40 users do not get access to these new features.
Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation Explained

The new Dynamic mode replaces the older fixed multiplier approach with a system that adjusts frame generation in real time based on GPU load and display targets, so instead of locking performance to a preset multiplier, the GPU generates only the number of frames needed to match a chosen cap or the monitor’s refresh rate, which helps improve efficiency while maintaining smooth gameplay.
New 6X Frame Generation Mode

NVIDIA also introduced a 6X Multi Frame Generation mode that allows the GPU to generate up to five additional frames for every natively rendered frame, and the company says this jump from 4X to 6X can improve 4K performance in path-traced games by up to 35 percent on RTX 50 cards while NVIDIA Reflex continues to manage latency during gameplay.

This rollout remains app-driven, so users need to enable beta and experimental features in the NVIDIA app and then select DLSS overrides from the Graphics tab where both Dynamic and Fixed modes are available, with Fixed continuing to behave like the earlier manual multiplier system, while upcoming titles such as 007 First Light, CONTROL Resonant, and Tides of Annihilation are expected to support these features soon.
