Nokia x will be getting swiftkey keyboard for free

On Monday, Nokia finally announced its line of Android-based smartphones. It also noted that the devices will be using their own app store called “Windows Store” instead of Google’s PlayStore. While it has managed to gather some of the popular names, more are expected to join in soon. One such app is the third-party smart-keyboard client SwiftKey and as CNET reports, it is coming shortly.

SwiftKey is an extremely popular third-party keyboard client for Android, and it recently found its way to the iOS as well, but only as a note taking application. While it has yet to make its debut on Windows Phone, they keyboard has been confirmed on arrive on Nokia X. Interestingly, it will be available for free on the Nokia X, unlike at the Google PlayStore, where it costs $3.99.

In a statement given to The Verge, the company said, “The deal will enable SwiftKey to faster penetrate emerging markets while offering Nokia X users best-in-class input technology and extensive language coverage.” The company is rather excited about Nokia’s new project. “We are proud to be a part of this next stage in Nokia’s journey and we are excited to bring SwiftKey’s personalized, adaptive technology to as many users as possible,” the company added.
