Nokia 'Superman' to have 4.7-inch display, 5-MP selfie camera

Earlier this year, we heard about Lumia ‘Superman’, a smartphone Microsoft is rumored to be working on for quite some time now. With Lumia ‘Superman’, the company is said to target the selfie-crowd. According to sources familiar with the company’s plans, VP of Devices Stephen Elop demoed Nokia ‘Superman’ and a high-end smartphone dubbed Lumia Tesla in an internal meeting earlier this week.

The Nokia ‘Superman’ is tipped to have a 4.7-inch display with 720P resolution. Powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, it has 1GB of RAM and 8 gigs of internal storage. On the connectivity front, Nokia ‘Superman’ will have LTE support. It also packs in a 2200 mAh battery.

The phone is tipped to have a 6.5MP shooter at the back and 5MP camera for selfie lovers upfront. It should be noted that this is the first time Microsoft is putting such a powerful camera at the front of its smartphone.

The other device that Elop showed off is Lumia Tesla. The device, which could be the successor of Lumia 720, is an “affordable high-end phone”, according to Elop. Lumia Tesla is tipped to sport PureView camera. Until now, only high-end smartphones have possessed PureView camera technologies. If Lumia Tesla is indeed the rumored Lumia 730, then it could run Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 out of the box.

The company is expected to launch both smartphones in August.
